Peter – Far & Wild Travel Ltd

Hi, I’m Heather

As a freelance travel copywriter I’ve spent the last decade writing content for businesses in the tourism and hospitality sectors across the world. Whilst these days I focus mainly on safari and luxury adventure travel, I’m always open to something new.

My career in the travel industry began 20 years ago, when I was a tour co-ordinator arranging adventure holidays to Iceland. Since then I’ve worked in travel marketing, sales, and operations, before becoming the Content Manager for a luxury safari tour operator. After that I went solo as a freelance travel content writer and absolutely love it! I really have seen the industry from all angles, which means I get what you’re trying to achieve.

I’m currently based in the UK, but can often be found tracking rhinos in Kenya, sleeping in rainforest lodges in Peru, and haggling in Moroccan souks on the latest quest for my personal blog, Conversant Traveller. I’ve won several travel writing competitions, some of which have taken me on assignments abroad. My words have appeared in national publications as well as airline magazines, and my blog has been nominated for the British Travel Awards.

How the Consultation Process Works

1. CONVERSATION

It all starts with a conversation. We’ll discuss your travel copywriting project requirements and what you want to achieve. You can also let me know at this stage if you have a budget in mind, and your desired work deadline.

2. QUOTATION

Before we dive in too deeply, you’ll want to know how much it’s going to cost, so I’ll provide a tailored quotation based on the information provided and the time I think it’ll take me to achieve. A 50% deposit will be required to get the ball rolling.

3. PRODUCTION

Once we’re agreed on budget, deliverables, and deadline, I’ll get to work! I only take on a maximum of two new clients per month so I can give your project the time and focus it deserves.

4. SUBMISSION

When the draft has been completed, I’ll send it over for you to read. Do let me know what you think because feedback is so important to us travel copywriters. If you love it, you can publish as soon as you like.

5. EDITING

If you’d like a few tweaks, that’s no problem, one round of light editing is included in the initial price. Further edits will be charged at an hourly rate but are rarely required with a comprehensive brief.

6. COMPLETION

Once you’re happy with the completed project then it’s all yours to publish! This is also when I’ll ask you to pay the final balance, and an invoice will be provided by email. Do let me know what details you’d like on it.

What to Expect

My words are informative, entertaining, and persuasive, and most importantly, they’re human! I strongly believe that corporate speak and overcomplicated jargon are the surest way to put off a potential customer, so if you’re looking for pretentious or robotic copy, then we won’t be a good match.

Yet if you want someone who can write to invite a personal connection with your customers, let’s talk! It’s my mission to help your travel or hospitality business succeed by engaging with your audience on an emotional level.

I’ll authentically tell the story of your services, products, and experiences in a way that resonates with your clients, so they’ll feel invested in your brand right from the beginning.

Because after all, meaningful travel is nothing without community.
